A bruise is as the others have said a closed wound, an open wound is where there is a tear, cut, rip, avulsion (flap of skin), puncture (hole) or a scrape/graze in the skins surface, causing pain, which is often weeping blood or bleeding freely.

No a bruise is not an open wound. A bruise is a injury under the surface of the skin...A wound is anything where the skin is broken....Do a web search for open wounds.

no a bruise is where you bleed but it dosn't come through to the outter layer of skin. sorry no pages
