Can somebody help me? I just got bitten by a bug...?

And I don't know what it is! My thumb hurts, bad. The bite looks like a little red dot. I was walking underneath a tree when some bug fell down...into my hair! I'm not sure if the bug fell from the tree, so it would either have to be a flying bug or a bug on a tree. I tried to get it out of my hair, and when i touched it, it bit or stung my thumb! I couldn't really see what the bug looked like since it either flew off or dropped after it stung/bit me. I'm pretty sure it was black ish though, and it made buzzing sounds. I'd say it was a bee, but i can't find a stinger in my thumb anywhere! I've searched for a LONG time. The bug wasn't HUGE either. My thumb is swelling a little bit. What should I do, and does anybody know what bug this is?

Sounds like a wasp bite.

Unless you're allergic to it it should be fine.

If it swells up more you go the Doc.

Might have been a wasp, just wash the bug bite with soap and water and apply ice to the site. Watch it over the next couple of days and if the swelling seems to increase instead of decrease go see a doc and make sure celluitis doesn't set in. Keep it clean, go wash it right now with soap and water and put ice on it. My best to you.

it likely was a bee (or wasp). not all bees leave their stinger behind when they sting. I'd recommend Ibuprofen and ice... lots of ice!



If the pain continues to persist, see your GP... you could be having an anaphylactic reaction.

Go to the hospital immediately. You do not know what the bug was, and it could have been poisonous.
