Currently I am a high school student on summer break and I was looking into taking a CPR course.

I am looking into taking a Basic Rescuer CPR (Level C):
http://www.sja.ca/Ontario/Training/Pages/TorontoCPR-Level-C.aspx

I was wondering if it would be worth my while to go the extra distance and take the Standard First Aid with Basic Rescuer CPR (Level C) & AED course which includes defibrillator training:

???

Thanks

I agree with everyone else. YES. Take the extra part of the class and learn to use an AED. There are too many dumb people on here with no training in first aid. At least you won't be one of them. I am an EMT and I have seen an AED save someone first hand. It is becoming very common to see them around in the US and im sure Canada too. They have them in gyms, airports, and lots of supermarkets even have them. It's very easy to use and you'll have a far better shot at saving someone's life.

First Aid doesn't take a lot more time, but will be helpful in a lot of ways. Knowing how to work the AED units would also be great. I think everyone should learn how.

Yes. More training is always better.

And CPR is just a holding pattern. To get a heart re-started you need the AED.
